Pioneer 8000NEX firmware update error

So I have just updated my head unit to a Pioneer AVIC 8100 NEX... absolutely love this thing!!! To be honest I have no idea why I resisted for so long to update it.
Everything works well, apple car play and all the other lovely features.

However I'm running firmware update 1.01 and would like to update to 1.1 (latest version).

I've tried everything from three different flash drives, reformatted the (slow format), and I still get this annoying message.

Has any one gone through this before - am I missing something?

I ensure that I have the latest unzipped folder "AVIC5000NEX" (yes it is supose to be the 5000 file (its just a name).

I switch the audio off, go to the firmware update section, plug the USB in and click update.

The folder is the only folder on the USB.

This is driving me nuts trying to figure it out

Man that looks great! Wish some other companies would make a similar unit. I have had bad luck with pioneer units of late. Warranty sucks as well as service. I would never buy anything pioneer again.

Thanks guys.
I got the 8100NEX from amazon. Found it for around 800 which was a great price. The surround and bose cables I sources from Suncoast for around 400.

Yeah the Apple Carplay is simply spectacular.

Bskyoon is infamous around these parts
I know this thread is ancient, but maybe this will help someone in the future. I've had the 8200 for a few years so I didn't exactly remember which model it was and downloaded the 8000NEX firmware update. Got the error message several times after trying all sorts of things and finally realized I had the 8200. Downloaded the correct firmware and it worked perfectly.
