World's Fastest 997.2
Just amazing Chris, 138mph in the 1/4 is smoking!! Congrats on a great build and kudos to the world class build team! NJ streets will never be the same...
If you think Englishtown shut you down before (when you were in the 10.2s, forget about running there now without full hardware)! LOL

Yessir, I'm going to stick to track rentals at Atco for that reason. I really don't want to put a cage in it
Haha, yeah I am seriously out of my mind waiting. My son had a virus and was in the hospital right before the event so couldn't go (he's all good now)
The worst part is when it does come back it will likely be in the dead of winter and prob snowing so I have to wait until spring regardless arrrgghhh

I secretly hope it gets cold and starts dumping down snow up there soon! My mid-winter snowboard trip is counting on it!
Lol you aren't kidding Tom. Today and this past weekend it has been mid-70s which is insane. Last year the winter started mild (although not this bad) then wound up pounding us with snow every week for a solid month and a half. I'm looking forward to the cold as long as it doesn't linger like that or hit every single week
How much you boost run?
Boost was about 17psi or so. Lots more left but I literally tuned it from start to finish at the track from first pass to last.
Car has lots more in it, really a great shake down. Super happy with how it ran.
Car will get some Dyno time to really dial it in and then I am coming to Atco to see what we can do, once it's warm. ( although I was just there a week ago and it was 60!)
So happy for you Chris I really am happy with how the car came out.
Thanks everyone for the kudos. Champion/giac set a high bar for the 997.2 and it wasn't easy to get even on the bigger turbos.
Cheers.

Question: How would one claim "The Worlds Fastest 997.2?"
I clearly don't drag but, wouldn't the quickest time win? Do most look at MPH?
Champion had a fast run to contest at 9.83,
BTW, I could run a 14 sec in the same car "tip or not!" Congrates on the great run regardless!

In drag racing, as pointed out by someone above, "quickest" refers to the ET (elapsed time) in the 1/4 mile. "Fastest" refers to the trap speed in the 1/4. They are the standard terms used by everyone in the drag racing scene. People look at both ET and trap speed, as each data point tells a different story.
I don't understand your 14 second comment, sorry
Thank you

First, congrats on your track results, getting these .2 TT cars to run some decent numbers is not easy. Decent numbers meaning - consistent low 10's and high to mid 9's. The overall platform is not built for it, but it can be done as you and others like Champion have proven.
I am a drag racer, but didn't start as such. I started road racing motorcycles then moved into the drag racing scene with my father and never looked back.

I still love road racing the 997.2 TTS and my C6Z for drag racing, but I am slowly but surely pushing the P-car to the 1/4 mile track.

I've gotten into the 10.30's range on stock motor, PDK and turbos and no meth, but with a secret fuel mix. I would like to run 9's with no meth...and if it doesn't happen, I'm thinking of spraying NOS (40hp shot) into the inlet pipes of the IC's just as I did with my Turbo Supra and 5.0 back in the day and see how that goes.
Keep pushing brotha, we need more folks like you, Champion and I guess myself to show others that it can be done.

Thanks,
E-Gear
Thanks E-Gear, I will be definitely pushing forward and want to be comfortably in the 9s with a trap of 140+. I have high hopes of doing so on race gas and meth.
10.2.-10.3 is where I was at on pump 93/ms109 mix no meth and street tires and is pretty quick so nice job on that as well.
I have yet try (or think I will) the "secret fuel mix" others have of mixing leaded fuel with unleaded. (may or may not be what you are referring to
) I know it works to an extent but just not something I've ever considered

Then 93/E85 mixed....93(5-gal)/E85(2 gal). The 93/E85 mix performed best for me. Mainly because I am running AFR's in the 11.5 to 11.7 ranges from 3,800 rpms to redline. The splash of E85 helps lean out the AFR to ~12.2's to 12.30's which gives me a little more ooomph on top while all else the same (timing and boost).
You are a racer, I know you know what I mean, but I can dive deeper if you like.
Thanks,
E-Gear
