Wouldn't you then want the gt3 intake manifold as well and I assume this only makes sense if going with the same size bore as the GT3 then.

That's not as bad as expected.

When is considered the time to build the 6 speed?

Vs tip?

I think I had 12,500 in the legacy gt trans between the sti trans swap and ppg gear set and that was to hold the power these things come with.

theres no answer to that. prodigy ran 1000 hp on a stock trans for yrs. others have blown the trans on the first pass. theres a lot of torque to be had on these motors. the mechanical fuse is the axles. its much cheaper to break an axle than a trans housing. upgrade the axles and the power goes to the next weakest link. remember the diff and trans share the same housing. break either and you could be looking at 8000$ for a new housing.
i have what would be considered a mild built trans for my 996turbo all upgraded 1-3 997gt2 gearing steel syncros and billet side plate. dhalen has a fully built radner trans with billet forks, straight cut gears etc. 3 times the cost of mine

My 997 stock trans was fine at 1000whp, but I was easy on it. I swapped it before it would became an issue, and maybe it never would have??

3k of my trans is the diff, which is a weak spot anyway. The rest is gears and billet shift forks. I have guards gears in mine, but Rader makes his own stuff now - supposedly better.

He'll be able to build the 997 gearboxes like he can with the 996, I hear, but not sure when.

I am happy with the setup, it has really long gears which make it ideal for hauling ***. I can do 60 in first

Yes, works well.

There are a couple things that are different, such as a bracket for the 997 coolant lines which doesn't exist on the 996 trans. I've zip tied them temporarily, but will need to fab a more permanent solution.

Don't go through the hassle. I'll give you $500 + a good 997 trans and you won't have to fabricate anything!

Have you taken it back to the dyno yet after fixing your boost leak issue?

Very interested to see what these turbos can do.

Hopefully in the next week or two. Finishing motor assembly with new heads and cams, then back on for adjustments!
