Hello, I had the same annoying ticking sound, I replaced the part and if I am not mistaken it was approximately 700Dhs (190$) and it solved the problem, I added the part diagram showing the part # I replaced; Online it shows up as 200$ +/-, with a 10% discount its around 190$. Part #99711002973. Confirm with a mechanic/dealer before you buy it to ensure it is the source of your problem.. Goodluck

Love the color of your car, BTW..

I occasionally have the ticking as well, it changes frequency from slow to fast, but I'm not sure it's a true "problem"..

Are you having any driveability issues or codes?

aaaand this is my first post ever, but my 997 tt makes a ticking noise also, which is synchronous to the revs. sounds like a lifter but I don't think it is. can you describe your noise or post a clip of it?

this is likely the fuel tank purge valve that sends fuel vapor from the tank into the engine to be burned.

Hi Guys

Ive also got this ticking noise on my 997.1 TT, usually happens between 1500-2000rpm. Ive taken the car multiple times to the Porsche dealer and they can't find anything. Any help would be appreciated .

Is the noise from the purge valve speed or rpm related? I have a fairly loud ticking noise that I can hear while driving with window down and it's not rpm related but it does get faster with higher speed. It's loud enough to hear reflected off buildings and other cars. Car runs fine. Is this what others experienced?

Just an update - it was a nail in my tire responsible for the ticking noise. Fixed!
