Need help quickly - got into rev limiter

I was running my car at event 200 miles from home. When I went to run it again, it was initially idling rough. As soon as I started revving, it started sputtering, lights came on dash. All gauges show OK. What happened - foul plugs? Can I still drive it home without damaging it?

it was the short hose leaving y-pipe to throttle body, hope this is not a common problem for totally stock engine.

These do slip off quite a bit. Have to make sure they are secure and tight, and that the band clamp is in the groove. Also, you can wipe it good with a cleaner like MAF cleaner, and then spray some hair spray on it just before you clamp it down. Some have had good success with that.

Good luck,
DC

I've had this issue before as well (a couple times). In addition to thorough cleaning, hairspray, and ensuring it is seated 100%, you can also try beefier clamps than the OEM ones.

I put on a slightly wider clamp after I broke the OEM clamp trying to tighten it the last time I popped off the hose.. So far so good...
