Why three washers for oil change?

Why three washers for oil change?
Hi,
The first time I did my 997.1TT (2007) oil change I ordered the parts from SunCoast. The kit came with three washers. I could only find two drain plugs and all the DIYs showed only two places. So the third washer was mystery.
Now, I went to the local Porsche dealer to purchase the filter and the two washers and the parts guy says that there are three washers to change. On the parts diagram, one of the washers is on the top of the engine as far as we could tell. He asked a mechanic and the mechain said they always change all three.
Does anyone know what they are talking about?
Thanks

No idea. I am pretty sure you only drain crankcase and dry sump tank. Should be different seal rings for each. 1 aluminum and 1 copper.

I just checked service manual....
There is a sealing ring on the Oil drain plug on crankcase, another one on the oil tank and then another sealing ring on the oil drain plug on oil tank for turbocharger. So I am assuming at one point there was a drain that got phased out on the little tanks under the turbos.
I guess the 996 has this extra little drain as seen in this DIY page:
