So I was wondering around under the car the other day and noticed what at first I thought was a mud dobber nest up in the drivers side nacale duct.....on close inspection realized it was grease with road grit. The cv joint has split and thrown up on the foot well. The passenger side has a light band of grease just starting in the same area.
Took it to the friendly Pcar dealer and warranty is covering the replacement of the boots and an alignment......
Jut thought I'd share in case you want to have a look at yours......oh I'm at 32k miles....

It is always a good idea to have the car up in the air - I would say at the very least, a couple of times a year to check everything.
Glad you caught it early and that warranty covered it!

 

Last week my outer boot was leaking too. Hope the joint is still fine.
