Year Out: Buying 997 Turbo
Year Out: Buying 997 Turbo
Hello All,
Currently have a 1997 Viper as my weekend/fun car and carefully planning on picking up something new in a year or so. I've always had my eyes on a 997 Turbo and wanted to ask a few questions from you experts.
1. Primary reason for a Viper was uniqueness and low end torque. Right now it puts down around 430rwhp/460rwtq. Is the 997 turbo able to provide what I am looking for in comparison to my Viper? Never driven a Porsche before.
2. I've been browsing the Cars for sale forums here. Most Turbos seem to range from mid/high 60-70k depending upon mileage and condition. When looking for a 997, what should be the primary things to make sure are done. For example, preventative maintenance and high cost mods for power. With any car, a seller will not be able to get their money back for the money put into the car, so I'd like the "best bang for buck".
3. Anyone interested in a Viper?
