Today was my 1st time participating in the Wanna Go Fast event in my home state in our TTS. Car ran about where I thought it would. Best pass was 153mph. Wife made 1 pass, she ran 151mph. Overall fun day... next year, we'll be faster. Europipe and tune only.
How was the event?
Any surprises or anything new you learned that was not expected ?
It was a lot of fun... only surprise was faster cars couldn't reel me in. I raced a 700hp CTS-V twice and even though he out mph'd me, he couldn't catch me! 😬 Track was slick though, so me getting way out front contributed to that I know.
Thank you! I raced my friends 700whp CTS-V twice. First pass he was gaining, but couldn't catch me... second pass we raced again and he could even gain on me. That surprised me. My wife raced another CTS-V and ran off and left him. There were 41 CTS-V's there, so odds were, we were racing one of them. Ha!
Car pulled hard through the first 1/4 mile I'd say, but was pretty flat the last 1/4... I feel it ran out of hp at that point that's why it didn't mph that well. Overall, I'm pleased with 153mph, just gives me something to work on for next year.

Sounds like you had fun and had some good runs! These cars do well in these events for sure. Seems like always a lot of those Caddy's at the no-fly zones too
***Watch posting your speed...I posted my speeds and even included the trap speed slip picture and a screen shot from my torque app, and some jack@ss on the forum apparently did not believe the speed, so started posting negative rep points on my account on various threads saying it was bullsh@t etc....You cannot tell who it is, as it is anonymous....But the loser needs to get a life...
At any rate....sounds like you had fun and ready for more mods and quicker times next time! Cool that your wife wanted to drive....Mine will ride but has no interest in driving

I posted that I did a 172.3 at NoFlyZone CA on my IG and got called out that it wasn't a true "Half Mile". The Internet Police are strong these days.
Don't think I have to be worried about being called out for a false time slip at 153mph in half mile....
lol
It actually goes both ways...you may get sh*t for going too "slow" too. My first time 1/4 mile drag racing my 997 years ago I did a 10.6 @ 130.3 with a GIAC tune and posted here very excited just to get blasted for how bad others seemed to think it was given that a few people had already gone 129.X bone stock.
The 997 Turbo forum has thankfully mellowed over the years. The drama moved over to the 991 Turbo forum.
Anyway we look forward to your mod progression and improvements at the next events. Maybe a camera pointed backwards next time

Well, maybe those guys who ran faster bone stock just shift faster. Ha! Another reason I'm glad I didn't get the 991... besides being $30-$40k more money!
My next mod will definitely be intercoolers. Need more boost too!!!
A camera pointed rearward would've been cool. Next time. My best 1/8th mile pass is a 6.76 @ 105mph which works out to a 10.63 at roughly 130ish. So, judging from your car I can see where I need to go if I want to be fast like you.
So how does it work? Is the winner determined by ET or MPH? or is it just for exhibition and an opportunity to run your cars out toward the top end?
How do these Roll Racing Events work?
I have never done anything but 1/4 and 1/8th Mile Drag Racing, with an occasional trip to a club AutoX or Road Race event.
Trophy goes to the fastest in each class... I entered in awd class, I was NOT the fastest. I didn't even get a participation trophy (crying) 😢 but it's decided by whatever class you enter. Example... Saturday top speed was an Alpha 20 GTR which ran 217 mph! Sunday the top speed was another GTR that ran 221 mph. I came in juuuuuust behind those guys at a blazing 153 mph so I was almost in the hunt. Haha!
You line up like a drag race, light turns green and you go as fast as you can for 1/2 mile then get on the brakes before you see if your car can float? (Water at the end of the runway) If you and your opponent choose to you can go from a roll... most go from a dig.
I'm a drag racer so I like that see if I can tree my competition and how far out on them I can get. I knew I wouldn't outrun most of the guys there, but I damned sure had fun putting busses on them early in the run. Ha!

i do a lot of the wannagoifast events. winner is determined by who crosses first but that may not be the fastest car. time isnt a factor only speed. roll racing can be done theres a cone approx 100 ft out from the tree. they simply let you go and at the cone hit and run but its not accurate
