Joined the Club, My New (to me) 2012 997.2 PDK Turbo

Hey guys! I've been lurking here on 6speed for a while and decided to intro after taking delivery of this 997.2 Turbo. My last car was a Boxster S but I couldn’t shake the need for more power and poise! I’ve been a BMW guy for quite some time with a supercharged M3 and turbo modded Z4. All I can say about this 997.2 Turbo is abso-freaking-lutely amazing!

My first order of business is what software upgrade to choose
And get some clear side markers

Then later move to new diverters, exhaust, y-pipe, maybe plenums.

I love the Werks1 splitter, rear diffuser, and wing (just not the price)

Glad to be here now!

Any recommendations for first mods?

Nice color! Look into ESMOTOR from the UK. They tune really well for our platform.

I just put on clear side markers and it really makes it cleaner look on the white cars.

Congrats welcome to the club. Im a former M3 S/C owner as well (ESS 650). The 997.2 is a much better performance machine, particularly with a couple bolt-ons.

My M3 was able to beat a stock 997.2 Turbo S from a roll - see vid below. From what I remember, with just a GIAC tune and IPD plenum years ago I was doing 10.6 @ 130mph 1/4 mile with my 997.2, which would have been more than enough to turn things in favor of the Porsche. With FBO+meth now my 997.2 1/4 trap speeds are in the 137-138mph range and with R888 tires I can out launch a Porsche 918, so the 997.2 has a lot of potential with light mods. Good luck.

wow you made that stock 997.2 turbo s look kind of slow unless that's just the go pro angle.

Guess just the addition of the additional water cooling tank in the front would make you that much faster over a standard ess vt-625 which I know would be a good race between a stock 997 turbo s.

I wonder how a stock 997.2 turbo s would do against the stock challenger hellcat.

From a roll race I think the 997.2 would win because of the efficiency from the PDK and better aero. HP/weight probably very similar. Obviously from a dig there is no comparison at all unless the Hellcat is on slicks with a pro driver.
