Could the factory mounts have dropped/sagged a bit to give that impression? I only say that as I have a Kline that sits exactly as you've described. I'm using Rennline mounts, but my factory exhaust sat perfectly with them where as the Kline is sitting too high.

The Kline is known for sitting about 1/8" or more high. Many like the look (from the rear when you're standing,.. a tip sitting a bit high in the bumper cover opening looks more correct). I'm not in that camp.

The NYPPD mounts I have (not currently installed) were made to the exact dimensions as factory,.. NOT ACCOUNTING for the droop the factory ones will experience when actually installed. So the engine / tips end up sitting really high up.

Your Rennline mounts are made taller than stock,... so that your engine / tips sit in the same place as they would if you had factory mounts. (In other words, they actually thought about their product and tested it before putting it in production).

Neither the NYPPD or Renline mounts are adjustable for height,.. and neither are the RSS as far as I could tell. (I called them, but they guys there don't seem to have any info about their products).

In the end,.. I bought a used pair of the cast aluminum engine mount adapters on Ebay yesterday. (The "C" shaped things the mounts sit on). When they get here I'll have them milled down 1/2",.. and get some shorter bolts, then re-install my NYPPD mounts.

Out of curiosity, why continue using the NYPPD mounts if they put so little attention in their design? If they never even tested their product, I wouldn't be going through the effort to modify the "C" shaped mounts to make them work. Why not just buy some that are known to work?

I have RSS mounts on a 997.1 with Kline exhaust AND a 997.2 bumper and the exhaust hits the shield, so I have to modify something too

Well,.. I'll have to modify something one way or another.

Either spend another $500 on RSS mounts and have the mount-towers milled 1/8"....

Or,.. use the NYPPD mounts and have them milled 1/2".

Gotcha! Sounds like the Kline is also contributing to the problem.

Are you getting a machine shop to do the work?

Wouldn't it easier to just bend the exhaust exit pipes on the Kline?

Kevin_86 is infamous around these parts
I also recently installed a set of RSS mounts and am having the same issue. The speedtech exhaust is now hitting the heat shield and while I have tried adjusting the tips its just not possible to get enough clearance. While its not a big deal, I really dont want to bend or cut the heat shield, but do not believe I have any other option short of swapping the mounts or milling the mount pads as others have suggested.

This looks much better than mine, and like mine did with an OEM exhaust. Did you have to do anything specific to get the fit so perfect? I tried everything from adjusting the straps to reseating the flanges - was disappointed in the end but didn't want to go through any more hassle.

I have the RSS mounts as well, and a Fabspeed MaxFlo 3 exhaust and do not have any alignment issues...
