With his set up on another 997.2, they might be about 137-138 and about couple tenths slower, as the only other items his car has that is different from another car is light weight racing seats and very light wheels! Between his LW wheels and weight saving of his seats, it should help him out no more then couple tenths and 2-3mph in the 1/4.

Cobb custom tune... as far as wheels go, I'm running as good a wheel as money can buy. Forgeline GT1's (no debate necessary) they're as light as any high end wheel out there... my car weighs roughly 3,500ish lbs and as I've stated previously, makes 540whp and 636ft/lbs of torque on Cobb Plano's mustang dyno.

ZERO chance this car traps over 130mph in current configuration and I'm not a rookie driver. We're cutting 1.50 60' times on our MPSS's so I don't want to hear how our tires are the Achilles heal.., they're not! Lighter seats aren't gonna make up for time as each 100lbs equates to 1/10 of a second in drag racing... I'm 5'9" tall and weigh 180lbs so, I'm not fat either.... mystery continues until I figure out the formula on THIS car... and I will.

Back in the day while I was waiting for Protomotive`s package to come in the mail when I had stock turbos & exhaust only (997.1), Todd sent me his stock with just an exhaust tune. Then he sent me his 109 Tune and I picked up over 1 second 60-130 going from Protomotive`s pump tune to his 109 Tune!! Night and day difference in power under the curve and total power over the RPM.

Thanks

Bobby Ali

That, to me... is pertinent information!!! Thank you! I'm exploring tune differences between "race" fuel tunes and pump gas tunes in these cars. Thank you again for that info!

Adam, thank you for all your input... I'm planning on investing in an VBox... looks like it might be a great tool for me moving forward.

You will get no argument from me there! I almost placed an order on those exact wheels, but started to look at my kids going to post secondary and said I will wait for a bit!

You must post photos with those wheels on your car now or BAN!

i ran straight ms109 for a few months with no issues , full tank at a time. juts got expensive so i switched to E85 . i cant imagine there is anything scary about keeping it in the tank for an extended period of time, it certainly wasnt anything but expensive and stupid on my part , driving at normal speed was just pissing money away .

Here is my thread from back in the day regarding pump vs 109 tune:

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ight-pipe.html

Here is rewheeled turbos pump (6.9sec 60-130) vs E85 tune (5.9sec 60-130):

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ump-e85-s.html

Hope that helps!

Was your car tuned on the 109 or were you just substituting it for pump gas? Did you notice a difference between fuels and the way the car ran?

Not sure the analogies of pump vs ms109 provide the same results on a 997.2 vs 997.1. When tune/plenum I was 129.X trap pump and 130.X trap ms109.

Those trap variances would indicate MS109 netted you zero... am I understanding that correctly? 1mph on race gas doesn't seem worth the trouble.

I agree with you that 997.1 vs 997.2 are not direct comparisons concerning octane delta differences between the two, because of the 997.2 being DIRECT INJECTION verses conventional injection.

With direct injection being sprayed right into the cylinder, you have a more complete burn and your 997.2 can run a little leaner among other benefits from direct injection. The for-mentioned is a great benefit for pump gas where octane is the limiting factor.

Todd at Protomotive was informing me how much more he was able to extract out of the 997.2 on PUMP fuel vs 997.1's. What he was getting out of pump tune and exhaust only 997.2, took a complete full bolt on and re-wheeled turbo 997.1. to match on PUMP. He said once you put race or E85 fuel in, the balance shifted to the 997.1.

My 997.1 results would not be as drastic as your 997.2, being that your platform does better on pump verses the 997.1's. Meaning when I switch from pump to race I pick up a second 60-130, but a 997.2 should still pick up 0.5-0.7sec from 60-130 OR at lease 3-4mph in the 1/4 verses 5-7 for the 997.1.

Hope I am making some sense.

It was years ago but actually I remember going a little quicker on the pump gas run even though it was 1mph slower on the trap speed. Something like 10.64 vs 10.66. It was a conservative OTS Stage 1 file. The stage 2+ OTS file I'm running now is of course more aggressive and so the variance between pump vs race vs meth + pump vs meth + race is pretty significant.
