MS109... Who is running it?

Anyone running MS109 for track events... I'm a drag racer, looking for an advantage over my 93 pump gas. Any pros or cons to running it other than being corrosive?

Never heard that it was corrosive. Perhaps that's only if you only use it and leave it sitting in your car for long periods of time.

Do you run meth?

I was told not to leave it in the car for more than an event... meaning run the fuel out completely or drain it. No, I don't run meth.

Meth is not for everyone but....your car could be dramatically faster. Our mods are pretty similar. I have an OTS tune catted exhaust intakes and intercoolers and of course meth. I'm not even tuned for meth but it makes a huge difference.

run a e85 setup and get the power of 109 at the cost of less than 87 octane

From what I recall OP has a modded 997.2. He cannot run e85 without the fuel system running dry.

Sigh... I know you're correct. You and I have had this conversation. I haaaaaate the thought of using meth, but I may be forced to if I can't get over this plateau I've reached with the car. 10.69 @ 128mph is my best pass. Not stellar, but not too bad either. I was hoping I could try this MS109 out to see if it makes a difference or not?

I initially thought it was my tires holding me back, but 1.54 60' times aren't my problem. I believe something is amiss. Car makes 540hp on a mustang dyno, crazy torque though. 636ft/lbs. I feel like it's running out of horsepower and just flattening out towards the end of the track. It ran 153mph last November at Wanna Go Fast here in Texas, but that was BEFORE we installed the new I/C's and retuned the car.

Loooooooong way from where your car runs in these events. Not even holding a candle to your car and it slaves my brain trying to figure out why?

Only difference is the meth and tune my friend. Your car would be nearing a 140 trap. I smoked this 991.2 Turbo S a couple weeks ago (Race #9) and a week later that 991.2 with no other changes went 10.14 @ 136.X.

In all fairness, It's hard for me the believe my tune is that much more inferior to the tune in your car... not arguing for one vs the other, just hard to believe based on my research. I ran meth on my C7 as you know and it with adjusted tune was good for an additional 60ish whp. Doubt very seriously it'd make that kind of power jump in my TTS.

Well just a tune and plenum otherwise bone stock car I went 130.X in the quarter mile at a crappy track. A couple bolt ons and I went 135. Now with meth I dunno but appears that 140 is in the cards. I'm not the only one running this tune package. Most others just don't post.

There is absolutely no secret to my car. Anyone can replicate.

What tune are you running?

Longboarder runs about 139-140 traps 1/4 (VBOX which is VERY accurate). With his set up on another 997.2, they might be about 137-138 and about couple tenths slower, as the only other items his car has that is different from another car is light weight racing seats and very light wheels! Between his LW wheels and weight saving of his seats, it should help him out no more then couple tenths and 2-3mph in the 1/4.

Also running 93 pump gas tune verses a MS109 race gas is night and day difference....as in if you are trapping 128 on pump your would be about 133-135 on 109 tune.

Back in the day while I was waiting for Protomotive`s package to come in the mail when I had stock turbos & exhaust only (997.1), Todd sent me his stock with just an exhaust tune. Then he sent me his 109 Tune and I picked up over 1 second 60-130 going from Protomotive`s pump tune to his 109 Tune!! Night and day difference in power under the curve and total power over the RPM.

Thanks

Bobby Ali

I've been 130mph with just a Sportec tune and Europipe catted exhaust. Cobb tune, AMS I/C's, same Europipe exhaust the car picked up ET, but slowed down. It's a mystery... Yes, I understand quicker et's mean slower mph, but I figured I'd pick up speed and et after we installed the new I/C's and retuned the car.

Well you can certainly try ms109. You might pick up a couple mph in the 1/4 mile. A vbox is a good investment to see where you are at 60-130 and 1/4 mile trap. Who knows your car might be really fast but your track just reads slow.
