Diagnosis Please!

I found the source of a leak and was wondering if anyone here can provide some input as to what pipes it is coming from and potential solutions. Thanks!

I recently went through something similar. Mine had to do with the power steering return line connection to the power steering reservoir. The line was leaking Pentosin down to the the same spot you show in the picture. This is the protective ring rubber seal of the passenger side water pump housing. If left unattended for a long period of time, coolant will eventually make its way out. I ended up doing the driver's side also.

Check the following:

Some pictures of the bad protective ring rubber seal and all the parts I replaced.

Thanks guys. This is great information for reference.

FYI: I just got the car back from getting the oil tank replaced so I fear that dropping/reinstalling the engine may have jostled things out of place. This leak was NOT there before the oil tank repair.

I sent the pic to my service consultant and awaiting feedback. This should be interesting.....

Just curious why you had to replace the oil tank?

        Ouch. Bet that wasn't cheap.
I'd take it back since they dropped the motor see if they'll fix it since it wasn't doing it before.

Thanks 02black. Missed that image above . But at least it's now searchable:-)

I'm assuming the rear plate needs to come off to remove the coolant piping?

Not at all, that elbow comes off easy, just be careful not to over torque the little bolts reinstalling ... Biggest headache is flushing the air bubbles out of the system afterwards ....

Totally agree with you on future state searches.

Yes, exactly what TT.BRN said. Just two bolts and the elbow easily comes off. You can see the elbow already removed in the picture above with all the parts laid out.
