Makes me feel better that it wasn't given away, I was kicking myself for missing the deal of the decade...but it's not like I was actively hunting down gt2s anyway, maybe after the next powerball drawing.

I'm still confused as to why it was only bid up to $154K.. isn't that around what a pristine 996 GT2 would fetch?

 

Serious GT2 buyers aren't likely to be bidding through eBay to get the car. They'll be calling the dealership directly and buying it behind the scenes.

 

I don't think there's going to be a huge delta between eBay auction values and other avenues of purchasing similar cars, especially in this day and age of PPI's, car history reports, DME reports, and convenient auto shipment. If there was, then we're all missing a huge arbitrage opportunity here of buying cars on eBay at a tremendous discount and flipping them elsewhere.

 

I'm confused... The second link shows it's still for sale. I see the first link shows it sold for $15X. I doubt they would let it go for that cheap. The 997.2's gt2rs are selling for 3-4X that amount...
