Back In A Porsche! 997 GT2 9k Miles :)

Super Excited to be back in a P-Car! Just picked up a 997 GT2. The car currently has a full Champion VTG kit. I'm probably going to go 3.8 with Xona turbos for a fun street build. I will definitely keep you guys posted here on what I do, like I did on my prior record setting 997 turbo. See pics below in the mean time.

No chance you’ll stop at a 3.8L after that last insane build! Looking forward to your updates!

Is converting these to AWD a thing? Seems way more cost effective to get a regular TT and swap in the relevant GT2 engine parts if so.

Oh man am I excited to see what a 997 GT2 is capable of becoming! I'm loving the stock version's balance of power and poise. The GT2 is definitely my favorite modern 911.

I added a little Italian to my garage

9ff converted a GT2 to AWD a couple years ago when the owner overpowered the RWD. Think 9ff also converted some of their TT-GT3s to AWD for the same reason.

^^^ yes a few friends have GT2s and struggle to put down 700-800bhp to the point where they are left behind by bolt on 997 turbos in real world.

That champion kit more than enough power IMO. Personally I'd try a race tune for E85 or MS109 first. Night and day difference in power over 99 Ron pump fuel we have in UK.

No big boost spike to deal with when running VTGS. Xonas or 3076 R type turbos make something like a GT2 quite difficult to drive around a track as the chassis is unsettled by the big wallop of power. If you get someone like BBi to install syvecs traction control only then does it become manageable. Well jel
