Stand alone e85 content gauge?

Hello...question for all those running E85 tunes on the vehicle with Cobb or other non flex fuel capable methods.

How do you guys normally test ethanol content to know how hard you can push the car?

I randomly stumbled across this and wanted to know if anyone else had any thoughts with having this installed in the vehicle. It would on the fly allow you to know your ethanol content and tell you when you can run a nice 85%+ tune v. a e60 tune or something...the human flex fuel!

I wouldn't want to rice out my pillar...so also wondering where in vehicle to mount ?

These work fine, and the sensor is a OEM inline (place it in your return line) made by Continental typically. I run the same in my Supra using ProEFI and use a display for all functions. Make a glove box mount or one in the trunk since once your fueled up its not going to change but +/- a % point until you refuel.

I think the cleanest solution is the FuelIt Bluetooth sensor adapter and App. Shows you E85 content on the phone without needing a tacky gauge somewhere.

no that big one is oldest one. I would use one of the smaller ones.

I used Steve’s (Fuel It) products on my last car and they worked flawlessly. He is also very helpful if you have any questions or concerns...

I’ve always wondered why more guys aren’t running e85 on this platform? Hopefully this will change soon.

Is this (Fuel-It sensor) a difficult install on the 997 TT, i.e. something to do when the engine is out or can it be done anytime?

Great thread! I mainly run E85 and up till now, I didn’t think we could run something like this in our 997s.

why not? this doesn't make our car "flexfuel" this is simply an informational tool that gives you the Ethanol content of your fuel. this is universal and can be fitted on any car
