Looking for someone who has done a 997.1 to 991.2 steering wheel swap

Hey guys, I have a 2009 997.1 turbo with manual transmission. I currently have a multi-function wheel with triangle airbag (see below).

I am looking to swap it with a 991.2 multifunction steering wheel (see below)

I'd like to know if there is someone who has experience ALREADY swapping one in the tristate ny area and can make sure the airbag, multi-function buttons and horn all work once installed. I know there is a thread on how to do it and possibly needing the adapter from GPS Adapters but I'd like someone to simply do the install. I have the circle airbag and steering wheel already. Not sure if I need anything else. Again, my car is manual, already has multi-function and I just want to swap it out to the newer wheel. Any recommendations?

Not sure if you need the 997.2 module with a manual but probably will for the airbag. I know with a tip I had to have it. I'm pretty sure you will need the module from gps if you want to run multi function. There are some posts from guys who did it on a manual but you may have to sift through the threads.

I did that, I got the Standard manual wheel with no multi function. I disconnected the battery before removing the 997 wheel and installed the 991 wheel before reconnecting it. It was plug and play did not need to change the module.

hi mate

you will need the new steering wheel + airbag and MAYBE the 997.2 steering wheel module (your car being a 2009 may have a the 997.2 steering module already - plug in a durmetric pro to make sure based on it's part number). the only thing you would need aftermarket to get the Multifunction buttons and controls of the 991.2 steering wheel to work would be paul's https://gpsadapter.us. if you already have the 997.2 steering wheel module (you likely do) then you wont even need a trip to the dealer to get the module coded - plug the https://gpsadapter.us adapter and from what i know it will be plug and play.

hope this helps
