It was a sports car.
You add things, and add more things, and something has to change.
993-to-996 was a significant change dimensionally.....very noticable when viewed from the interior....but the rest of the car as well.

The pics are beatiful. The color and angle convey more continuity than reality (IMHO). The actual difference here is pretty big.
