Really dumb question - what are the differences or benefits from straight pipe vs x- pipe?

Think of it as this.. straight pipe chaos with each exhaust making difference noises. X-pipe balance the 2 to create an equal tone. In my personal opinion after having straight pipes... makes the exhaust more tolerable, not as loud when cruising, and less drone.

I have had straight pipes with anti-drone tubes, before making my current X setup, straight pipes provided lots of turbo whistle, and mine had little no drone thanks to the anti-drone tubes but it was just too "raw" and loud. The Mezger needs an X setup to sound good when going catless/mufflerless
