I too have a 997S and am going to wait for the PDK tranny. Besides, right now the demand for the TT is out of sight. I'm hoping that by the 2008/9 model year the paddle shifters will be introduced.

just talk to prosche experts.....said the new gear box wont release the next couple years....specailly the PDK/DSG is unable to handle over 300hps engines.
Anyway, god knows what will happen....i guess i will just go for te TIP.

997hk....I don't know who your expert is but the Bugatti Veyron has the following: Bugatti’s (VW/Audi/)....Porsche etc...seven-speed DSG twin-clutch gearbox needs no clutch pedal, encourages manual shifting using paddles mounted on the steering wheel, and works equally well and entirely smoothly in automatic mode. It handles over 1000 HP.., Porsche can do this easily with no issues.
