For the Turbo, the only difference I see is for I220 (locking differential). There are two part numbers:

997 333 705 04 - without locking diff

997 333 705 03 - with locking diff

There is no notation about Cabrio differences.

The GT2 has it's own sway and its said to be a nice upgrade from the turbo's sway: 997 333 701 94

This is all from the PET manual.

Great info. Do you know the diameter for the locking and non-locking sway bars? I have a GT2 bar so I can provide that if anyone is looking for it.

From what I have read a stock 997.1 is 23 mm. I did see a post where the two bars were pictured with a caliper measurement tool reading 22.17 for stock and 25.86 for GT2 bar, so I am not sure what the exact measurements are.

Since there are two different bushings for the sway bars (lock and non lock) my guess, and it is only that, is that they might be different also.

I own a 997.1tt 6 spd coupe with Axle Lock and the rear bar dia is 22.83 mm measured on the bearing surface portion of the bar, over the paint. If the info for the stock bar dia is 22.17 mm is correct, then the Axle Lock bar is only slightly larger by approx 3%.....a small difference.

I run the GT2 bar on my car but set on the softest setting (hole closest to end of bar) and it works nicely to "sharpen" the handling with virtually no increase in Nvh.

Thanks for info.

I am about to do something similar. I have GMG bars front and rear with the middle hole engaged on the rear. I need to move that to the softer setting. While it holds well, when you reach the limit you have more of a snap then I would like. My hope is I experience what you describe when it's done rather than lock it so severely loose comes up too suddenly. I don't think I paid as much attention to others cars as the 911 for suspension tweaks, but I am getting close to being happy with it. Of course I don't think any of the Audis withstand or generate the forces the 911 can, so you get to the edge a lot easier and more often.

Agree with your approach. When I first installed the GT2 bar using center hole it had a great turn-in feel but I was always aware of the nervous rear as I pushed it in the corners. Also had a noticeable degradation of NVH.

My overall experience with front engine turbo charged awd cars is that a 30-50% increase in rear bar stiffness over stock (roughly 2-3mm larger dia) along with a stock or nearly stock sized front bar provided the best combination of handling and ride quality without broaching into "at the limit" oversteer. The 911 seems to follow the same methodology. Good luck on the suspension journey.
