**HELP!! Weird noise after transmission rebuild
Fiaz,
I wouldn’t forget about you, as I have your PM’s asking about my 63.5 awhile ago & just last week I went over my PM’s and it was a reminder.
When I put the Wavetrac unit in, it was causing a pretty awful 'grinding noise'. After my shop discussed with Wavetrac, they sent out a set of 'spacers' which alleviated the issue. Might be worth having your shop owner reach out ahead of time before you do any more work..
Thank you for the suggestion, but the noise is fixed now!
Apart of the taking the transmission down 3-4 times was taking the WAVETRAC out and putting back the stock differential in and the noise was still there. They put back the WAVETRAC and the sound was still there as well. Again just glad that the noise is gone now.
Not at all man, it has happened to me before where an item was sold locally to the US even after so many reminders.....I would know what I am doing hopefully shortly.
Bobby, you won't necessarily get more power from the 3076s on stock engine than your current setup but the advantage is that you could run pumpgas for that power. I worry for you that you would run e85 on the 3076s on stock engine and that may not end well lol
On E85 and Alpha I am hoping for 5.2-5.4 while watching my TQ down low and mid & pushing for higher rpm power while making more power for longer ie up to 7200 rpm. On the 3076 set up mark was doing 4.8-4,9's on E85 & Dzenno (PTF) was doing 5.1-5.2 on pump & meth . Mark said when he pulled his rods out he noticed they were, "slightly tweaked", and would recommend a little less power or not do street runs from 2nd to 6th at that power level(LOL). Dzenno seamed fine with the 5.1-5.2 on pump & meth.
I figured 5.2-5.4 the rods should still happy and at that number I would think it would be worth it for the extra $$ and time to make the switch to Alpha's. The goal would be to keep the same power band I have, but after 5500rpm make about 60-80 whp more and for longer shifting at 7200prm. Right now my rpm limit is set to 7200rpm, but usually shift around 6700-7000rpm as there is no more power to be had with the VGT above that.
