Arrow Car&Driver: Z06 vs. F430 vs. 997TT

1. Ferrari F430 - the best sportcar in the world and the most charismatic

2. Porsche 997 TT - the supreme supercar when conditions underfoot get tricky

3. Corvette Z06 - the best corvette ever and a performance-car bargain for the ages

Excellent, thank you.

The 997tt with the manual is not much slower than the auto looks like. Additionally, from the numbers it seems that as speeds get higher the z06 is the faster car, substantially.

What is also impressive about the turbo is that it takes the F430 around the track.

Very subjective interpretation of 1,2 & 3. The Ferrari wins nothing performance, handling, braking or track-wise but is anointed the best/most charismatic? The Turbo wins a few things and walks away with the "when conditions get tricky" award. Duh, it's the only AWD car in this test best I can tell. The Corvette wins some acceleration stuff, is basically king at the track and brakes well, and gets the back-handed compliment of "best Corvette ever" (another duh) and "performance car bargain for the ages" ? I like R&T testing procedures but their interpretation stinks.

Ive said it before, and Ill say it again. The 997TT is the best all around car IMHO. It does everything so well. I love it. Just the best.

AutoWeek, The Inside Track
Long ago, driving enthusiasts the world over anointed the Turbo as King of the Road. While not an official title—the appointment is one won in countless, hard-fought water-cooler elections rather than by a preponderance of punched chads—the Turbo has retained its status in the face of all comers. Viper? Too vulgar. Ferrari? Too prissy. Corvette? Too blue-collar. Lamborghini? Too, well, irrelevant.

how is the vette a "drag car" when it's faster around a track with turns or a track with 60', 330', 660', 1000' and 1320' timing lights.

Knew that 0-100 time of over 12s that Porsche is reporting was BS.

I would think a few hot laps with a decent driver would astonish most anyone.

Can anyone tell me why all 3 cars have substanially slower 5-60 rolling start times vs. there 0-60 times?

And look at the top gear acceleration #'s of the F430 vs the 997tt & Zo6... wild they are so different.

I hear all the time that the corvette is the best sports car for the money. Throwing out price and saying corvette is the best bang for the buck isn't fair to the Vette. It is a pedigree champion and proves itself time and time again in these tests. Congrats on the TT for the 0-60 and 0-100...but remember...it's AWD and Turbo. The vette is NA all motor RWD. My hats off to the people at GM that designed this vette. This car stands proud next to the super cars of the world.

The HOT CHICKS T&A should be in a F430 SPIDER going to Concourso Itliano......out to dinner..........to a club.......or back to the PAD for a session!!!!

Last time the magazines tested the F430 the car ran the quarter in 11.7seconds and CAR & DRIVER said the F430 was virtually as fast as the ENZO. I wonder why the car was only a 12second car.

Can't believe how hard the Z06 pulls from 100-150

it's down by .5 seconds at 100 to the TT, then makes up and is 1.4 seconds ahead of the TT by 150
