Is it really that simple to remap the 997TT ECU and fully tested consider the car just came out about a month ago?

This is some of what I was eluding to. Additionally, how is 80 Wheel HP and 90 TQ being obtained without boost? I know that yesterday at 117 degrees on the highway, my car was detonating

So what you're saying within a month period you were able to analyze the new technology, reprogrammed the ECU, and test the changes on various conditions (assuming no rework on remapping).

I'm just trying to understand what effort has been put in place, not questioning your integrity.

If you look at how Upsolute "tweaked" the 996 Turbo we can assume they did the same with the 997 Turbo:

They looked at the maps, added fuel at high RPMs, and cranked up the boost accross the board.

Two years ago their process did not include dyno tunning or testing. Tunning was based on customer feedback.

The process worked for them. After three or four revisions of the maps they had a check-engine-light free product for 01 to 03 996 Turbos in 2004. The MY 2004 Turbo did cause CEL, ABS, PSM failure under WOT.

So, based on the 996 experience and the facts

1. that the 997 Turbo is brand new OEM technology
2. that even the big Porsche guys like Ruf and EVO don't have a product ready

should help the person who is smart enough to have earned the funds needed to buy a 997 Turbo make the right decsion.

One more thing. I don't think that Upsolute knows about the temp. sensor in the VTG Turbos.

Is the ECU really that different on 996TT and 997TT?

It seems the 997TT has different turbos and not much much else different (in terms of engine parameters)? Of course the AWD system is totally different. I am no mechanic, but am just posing the question.

I think Vivid was refering to 90HP/TQ with flash on a 996TT?

I will address this in my other thread that I started: "Evolution of a 997TT" https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ad.php?t=53693

I think they are very different, ECU's that is. I would await alot more data before I take my new 137k car down for a 700$ chip.I think Dan's heart is in the right place, just upsolute's may not be.

I don't think I'd be too gung ho about volunteering my new 997TT for a product that doesn't give me any specifics about the power increase or how it's done. Reminds me of the Gemballa Carrera GT project, I think that they're still awating volunteers on that one

I guess the EVO supporters are not reading the first post.

Upsolute has already done this successfully to many 997TT. I have spoken to upsolute today. They get about 80whp and 85ft/lbs of torque. I am offering a FREE ECU upgrade to anyone that wants to do a before an after dyno on our dyno or a local one to them...

Dan, I read your initial post. How much testing has Upsolute done with their new programming (given the car just came out recently)? I guess mapping the ECU successfully is just the initial stage but what about testing it at various levels especially with the newer techology.

No big deal Ron...

Upsolute Austria I am not in contact with. They are the ones who do the programming and testing. With any company, they have done their homework, testing, tuning, and have a product released. Upsolute USA is my contact, they have done about 10 cars in the US right now is what they told me.
