What is the highest speed for 997TT

Yesterday I was driving my TT there wasn't a lot of cars in the highway I went over 320km/h (200 mile/h) but I couldn't get over 325km it seems that it has been adjusted to not exceed 325km/h. When I reached 325km the power cut off for a while then comeback but it was amazing the car has no problem to go faster.

From what I understand, the Turbo has been limited to 193 mph (310.59 kph) apparently because of tire limitations. Heck, the GT3 has the same top speed too. You probably also know that the speedo doesn't show the true speed when moving especially at those speeds. Almost all speedos are artificially higher than the true speed. I have no idea why they do it like that.

I wonder if there's a software upgrade that will defeat the speed limiter.

Not sure if its 100% but I think its because of regulations, if the speedometer showed a speed slower than the car was actually going they would be in hot water legally, so to avoid it, especially as speed increases, you get a bit of a margin of error so that legally they dont get in trouble.

I understand that all manufacturers overstate their speedometers whether for legal reasons or not, but I read somewhere that Porsche speedometers are one of the most accurate.

Cayenne_ksa: if your speedometer was showing 325kph, I believe your real-time speed was maybe only a few kms less than that (but definitely over 320kph).
Hey, mabrook 3ala sayartik wa mubarak 3alaik fishahar! min oukhouk fil Bahrain!

We should meet up somewhere when my TT arrives and tear up the roads a little

Question Need for Speeeeed!

This goes out to the tuners following this thread:

Is there a way to remove the speed restriction on the 997TT? I know it's because of tire restraints, but assuming you put on some top speed rubber and play with the ECU would you be able to go faster??

What was the RPM in top gear for that speed? Had no idea it is limited by computer vs. drag / power.
