My thoughts as posted on Rennteam are that there is probably no different tuning between the tip and 6spd, rather that there exists an advantage in preloading the boost which occurs from the torque converter.

this is true. tip holds boost better between shifts. auto car(although i will ALWAYS have a 6 speed) shift so fast these days and in this particular car it enable boost to be held more efficiently than the manual car.
