I was looking at the Porsche USA website and it now shows the 0 to 60 turbo tip at 3.7 seconds and the manual at 3.9 seconds? What gives????

Must be a typo because those are the exact times of 0-100kmh (0-62mph).

Porsche UK claims 0-62 mph at 3.9/3.7 (stick/tip).

Clearly there is a typo on the US site as they don't realize 60≠62.

So simply going by the numbers this is slower than a Z06? Has anyone actually raced one 0-60 yet because a kid at my school has a new Z06 and swears he would destroy a new turbo which I disagreed. Who is right? Or is it all speculation still?

This is not a very good topic to bring up on this forum. But since you did it anyways, 0-60 between the two should be very similar. From 0-60 the TT would probably in most cases edge out because of it's AWD advantage, atleast on the street this would be a big factor. 1/4 mile and rolls presents a different case.

Teach the youngster. Be his sage. Show him the wisdom that leads us to truly appreciate our cars. Remind him that 0 to whatever is just one dimension of many that should be considered in falling in love with a car.

If he does not heed your advice then point him in the direction of the Mustang, Camaro, and Trans-Am crowd. They all have a similar appreciation for cars.

0-60, who cares.

How fast can YOU turn a lap in a 997 TT is a better question.
