Question

I was reading Motor Trend, and they said the 998 was coming out in 2009, thats kinda odd

Also, what is Porsche going to call the 911 when they use 998 and 999?

all of the carreras have been referred to as 911's, except the old 912's. i am sure that they will always be referred to as 911's, whether the model name is 998 or 999. if i am not incorrect, porsche first began referring to these cars as 964's in 1989, then in 1995 they started calling them 993's, then in 1999 with the advent of water cooling as 996's, then in 2005 as 997's. i believe that the term 911, which porsche referred to their cars (again, except for the old 912's and european turbos 930's) existed until they changed the body style, inside and out in 1989 as the 964's. despite the fact that porsche has designated the previously mentioned model numbers, which reflected body changes, the car will always be referred to by everyone as a 911.
