XZC, sport shifter is available once again on the TT's, but supplies are expected to be limited. If you have an order in you may want to add it, be sure and get ACPORD confirmation. Just be advised if your order is close, your production date may get pushed back. Mine is an April build( maybe sooner), I was ok.

Good to know, but if it causes a delay in your production date just remember it can always be installed at your dealer afterwards (although you would be paying a small amount in labor costs for the install) I installed mine "after the fact" myself and the install is fairly straight forward but not for everyone. My car is a 2005 997S. Thanks for the update.

I've done the ssk shifter about 5 times in 996's, yes it's easy, but nothing beats factory installed.

What is ACPORD? Also, my order print out reads: order status MFGCNF. Do you know what that means?

Jesus... that's a hell of a lot of detail! Can you tell me what is the sequence of steps and how long approx. for each step?

Heh! Before my Turbo arrived, I grabbed every piece of available info I could get my hands on about the whole pre-delivery, production, build, delivery, etc. So send me a PM or I'll try posting them here; if you want to track your car.

It varies from car to car the time it takes going from one "status" to another. It could be because of a supplier issue, it could be because of a holiday, etc. So it's for that reason that I couldn't tell you exactly how long it'd take to go from one to the next. Rest assured, you'll get your car soon. The code you were given just means that it's slated for production at this point. I would advise against making any further changes even if it were possible because it could bump your car's production date. I learned that the hard way. And of course not all the codes are used. Only maybe 6 or 7 actually applies in this case. I just posted all the ones I had! :-)

Chris,

You still have a long ways to go at that point so there's nothing you can do but wait. The actual tracking doesn't happen until you reach CMPPRD (completed production).

Would you still not recommend making any changes? I know you were talking to the other Chris, but we're at the same status LOL

YES! I would recommend not making any further changes. I ordered mine in late May in GT silver originally but after I got back from my Austria trip (test driving the Turbo) I changed mine to Cobalt blue then over the next few days after that I made additional changes. My production date which initially was 8/01/06 got bumped to 10/26/06 before eventually being built on 9/15/06. Really frustrating for me to see that "bump" happen.
