Poor Response from retailers.

I have been in the market for a rear wing and front lip from prior to getting my 997turbo and I cannot believe how hard it has been to spend money with retailers.
I have emailed numerous companies for information on there products and have had very mixed results. Calling is often akward as it can be cross continent and timezone.
FVD germany have never replied to one of my emails, Speedgallery have intermittently replied, various accessories places have never bothered to reply either. I have one local accessories shop who are trying there best to help but often coming up with the same problem. As you may have read on another thread I got a front lip from Cargraphic Germany but it turned out to worse than useless.
All I want is a GT2 Style rear wing and a neat replacment front lip! How hard can it be?

How has anyone else found it?

You will almost never get an email back from the big boys like that. Even when I send emails I have to wait or follow up and in most cases it goes unanswered.

It is better to deal with a reseller then them directly. You will find that companies like myself and others do go out of our way to take care of the customer.

I encounterd the same thing but with the MB tuner's, It took Kleemann a week to reply to me and Brabus never replied. You know what I started calling them and gave them my email to send me a pdf brochure with price lists then , I can decide and fax them about what I want and then they reply with the quotation with the Shipping via email.

Thanks for the responses. I think the Uk is poorly placed for resellers, the few they do have are cottage industry type firms that are slow of the mark.
It would take a Sharkwerks or Imagine Auto in the Uk to change that.

Thanks. Thought you were just about wheels! I will remeber in future.
I have literally just managed to get a Techart supplier in the UK called Tech9MotorSport who are able to supply the parts.
Many thanks for your help though.

Hello, first of all please let me appologize for our german guys. God knows what happened with your email. Please PM me or send me a email to florian@fvd.us tell me what you need and I'll get all the infos together. If I need to talk to our guys in germany I definitely get a hold of our guys in Germany worked there for almost 5 years.

Sorry for all the inconvenience.
Best regards,
Flo

Stephen,

I am pretty sure that no company big or small want to miss any question or inquiry from an existing or a new customer. As soon as we receive a question we will answer it in a timely fashion. I really don't know what happened in germany but I definetly know that they are very busy over there and don't wanna miss even one customer.

Best regards,
Flo

I agree with the above comments. Some of the large tuners can be very difficult to deal with. You are better off giving the resellers a call. Not only are they more then willing to help, they can usually offer more of a discount then the large companies (oppisite of usual). Hope this helps.

Kleemann USA? That would be a shock as they are renowned for some of the best customer service in the business. I never waited more than a few hours for a return e-mail and always got them on the phone.
