Final thoughts on spare

You will need the furnished air compressor to fill the spare, as it is uninflated so it will fit in the trunk vertically.

My logic in buying the spare is that a flat low profile tire is very likely to be unrepairable. There would have to be a dealer nearby, open at that time and with a matching tire in stock. No guarantee on any of these. The emergency spare will at least get you on your way, without having to locate a rental car, with the same potential problems as finding a Porsche dealer. By all means, call roadside assistance to change it out.
Appreciate your input. Looks like a spare may just work around town, but no more than 100 miles away. On a trip, not so good. You could drive to a gas station, but they too, would not have the tire.

So best call porsche-roadside, they will tow you to a porsche dealer. The dealer may/maynot have a tire, so you have to stay there until one is shipped at roadsides expense. I even thought about buying a front tire, but a front tire won't go on the back. End result, if a tire shreds, you are stuck with the Porsche dealer. A spare saver is just for around town, and if a tire is destroyed, just get the car towed to a dealer or tire store and have the wife or friend pick you up and bring you home. Also any tire store in a fairly large town would get the tire to you in 24 hr. I guess if you are out of warranty, having a space saving spare might be cheapest way. Don't know. Just my $0.02

I've needed my space saver twice on the C4S, the second time I had to drive a couple of hundred miles on it, no issues other than riding a bit weird.

Yeah, I remember doing a "test" on it when the spare arrived. I did both a front wheel and rear wheel test which included city and freeway driving. Probably put about 15 miles total doing both tests. I know what you mean, it happens when one of the fronts go. The car wants to slightly pull to one side until you apply the brakes which oddly straightens the car up? It didn't happen with the large rear tire test (what a pain it is to put that sucker in its "baggie" and then fit it into the back seat....it just barely fits). Sure beats the hell out of calling a tow truck. Thankfully I have never needed to use it so far and I don't always take it with me which defeats its purpose.
