Cant Decide!! Please Help!!

I did it!!
Talked my wife into ordering a 997TT....
we both went to the dealer yesterday and are in process of ordering are White TT

Heres my dilemma now,,

Manual or tip?? normally i would not think twice 6speed of course!!
but so much being said positive about the tip!! Also resale factor!!

Also i am so scared to death that when i get my TT the PDK will come out??
Where would that leave the normal tip owners?
should i cancel my order and wait??

I am really confused.......ANY input highly appreciated.....

My two cents, Tip market will suffer tremendously when PDK comes out, but there will always be a market for 6speed for those who want an analog feel to driving and not want to feel like they are playing a video game.

Don't be scared to get a Tip now. The PDK is probably going to be $6,000.00 over the 6sp. And, how much faster (0-60MPH in 3.5 TIP) do you want to get ?
If you track...then wait for the PDK, but if you really really track wait for the GT2

Any idea when the PDK might hit??

My thoughts now are,, if i do go ahead with my order
A 6 speed might be a safer option!! Like Thuggy said the tip market
will really suffer from PDK!! Where there Always be a 6 speed market.....

Gosh in a way i feel this might be the wrong time to buy.
Kind of in the middle of two dilemma's 08's around the bend and PDK !!

I feel cold!! somebody hold me!!

My question would be "why tip?" acceleration difference is negligible and the loss of "feel" is a bigger difference.
Go the 6 spd.

I have the 6 speed and love it. I have never driven a tip. Can your wife drive a stick? If she can't this may be a reason to order the 6 speed.

If your are at all inclined to get a 6speed, I say go for it. Not only is it more involving to drive, you won't have to worry at all about PDK making the tip obsolete.

Even though the 6speed is slightly slower than the tip, the satisfaction of a perfectly rev-matched downshift before passing some dude or a perfect heel-toe downshift coming out of a fast corner on the track is reason enough for me NEVER to own a tip or even PDK...IMHO.

Go for the 6speed. The Tip, IMHO, robs some of the excitment from driving the turbo.

Resale? I'm willing to bet that down the road, tiptronics will NOT add value to the car.

I've owned both. Doubt I'll ever do anything but a stick again. It's just too much fun rowing through the gears.
