Nissan aspires to conquer the 911!?!

If I had an Enzo, I don't think I would ever push it as hard as my current car. So how exactly would I experience "soul" without driving a car to its limits? Hence where I disagree with the people that think a car with more "heritage" so to speak will automatically feel differently when they drive it.
For me, it's about how I drive learn to drive the car better and better each day.
Different strokes for different folks I guess.
Porsches are no doubt awesome cars and I wouldn't mind having one.

I first viewed to propoganda vid. I almost fell over (laughing) that is. Nissan utilizes the 997tt as a "chase vehicle" to demonstrate the "superiority" of the skyline. Yeah right. Japanese might not like a shoot out against P car instead of an overlay, they may lose face in a serious way.

Well, lest we forget the Japanese were/are noted for their "copying" abilities. Hence, why the cars continually lack "soul" as discussed at length above. And that is why (most people) buy a sports car. Read somewhere that speed is the first thing you become used to in a vehicle. Hence, it is the feel, the integration of car and driver, the "soul" if you will, that draws you to truly remember and enjoy a car.

So like I said above, wouldn't "soul" be a personal thing?
Anyways just my 2 cents.

Just some food for thought

I highly doubt it. If the previous R34 Z-Tune out performs the current Z06, there is no doubt in my mind that this new GT-R will be capable of outperforming the 911. (this is not trying to discredit the 911 either so there).

OUCH to part 1 of this post.
I doubt it will, it will be pretty much the same performance. All the test results so far have confirmed this.

As to the new GTR, it's not even production time yet. Only time will tell, but I have faith in Nissan.

Just my 2 cents

Look, let me go farther out there on a limb. No, it is not subjective to compare the plastic feeling japanese car to the Porsche. If I drive it once, subjectively I will know whether or not I like it. And, having owned/own Japensese vehicles I can confirm that. Some of which I drove out of the lot and knew they do everything right yet had "zero" driver engagement ala new GS430 which I traded in as it sat in my driveway for 6 months.
R34 v spec? Ok lets compare it to the 997tt post the numbers, and since it was tuned, maybe a more valid comparison is the Ruf or 9ff. And since people have made the comparison. How much was that car again? Was it available in the US? Come on, a blind chimp sitting in either car would know which one to pick after driving them back to back for a ten minute drive around the block. By the way, it is not a money issue, it is a fact based on the quality of the vehicles etc. Anyone, in my humble opinion, faced with these cars "FOR THE SAME PRICE" would undoubtedly choose the 997tt. That is where the money comes into play. Enjoy what you drive, but you will never convince me that if I offered you either car to keep as a gift you would run to the Skyline.

I'm sorry, the z tune did you throw that in there what did Nissan build, or should I say rebuild maybe thirty of those cars? And if recollection serves me correct they were in excess of 100k. Come on. That is really an in house tuner car rarer than the gt2 and the CGT. Not a valid compraison. Compare that car to the tuner 911's and than tell me how fast it is again.
