997TT Meteor Grey Metallic Pics
E55AMG, any and all apologies accepted! Looking at your signature and seeing that your car is also set for imminent arrival, I'm sure you're just a s anxious, excited and obsesed as I am. By the way, to the others who responded -- I take back any negative references I made to NY -- it's a great place that I love to visit and do so regularly.
Now that we've had the benefit of a few other postings, I hope you can see why I asked for more photos. With Black, White, Guards Red, Speed Yellow and Cobalt Blue, most of the images on the web are very, very similar. However, there is something about this Meteor color which is intriguing because it can look like several different colors depending on the lighting conditions and not so much due to the photographer's expertise. I have driven past several P cars of all types and have had to second guess whether they are GT Silver, Meteor, Atlas or Slate. With the Cayennes, which have more vertical surfaces, Meteor appears to be cooler. With the 911's, Boxsters and Cayman's, which have more horizontal surfaces on the the hoods and hatches and take on more direct light, the Meteor on those vehicles appears warmer, with a hint of gold or brown.
When I said, "I'd do it," what I meant was that I wanted to demonstrate this phenomenon, which is something I don't see with most of the other colors. This is perhaps why I like this color so much -- it's a bit like a chameleon, taking on different hues at different times.
Thanks for all the postings! They're helping me keep from jumping out of my skin!

Meatman, I certainly misinterpreted your "i'd do it" comment. all is well now
And I do understand what you are saying. My car will be slate and every picture i've seen looks different. It's almost impossible to photograph.
Make sure to post pics of the car when you get it
