2008 Price Increases!

Glad mine arrives tomorrow!

Porsche raising prices effective August 1st

If it's a new Porsche you have your eye on, you've got a new excuse to buy one now. The company says it's raising prices on all but one of its models, effective August 1. The newly freshened<st1:city w:st="on"><st1> Cayenne</st1></st1:city> is the only nameplate exempt from the increase. The Boxster price goes up .5%, Boxster S and Cayman S up .4%, but the base Cayman's price will carry over unchanged. Porsche's 911 Carrerra, GT3, GT3 RS increase 1.5% while buyers of 911 convertibles will pay another 1.4%.

Those craving a 911 Turbo will get hit the hardest after August 1, with a 2.3% larger bill. That's at least $5,726 more than you'd pay on July 31.

Wow that's a pretty big bump. I remember back in Dec. when I ordered my car a local dealer said he would expect a 1% increase.

BTW, congrats on your pending arrival - Can't wait to see pics. My car is on a boat and should hit the port next Fridy. It's been a looooooong wait!

WOW, i didn't think it would jump that quickly? Thats a $6200 hike for me if I factor in the additional tax and lic fees here in CA. Why did they target the Turbo with such an increase? I wonder if something else comes standard on the 2008 Model year (sport chrono)? We will soon find out. Counting the days Chris? I am glad your car is en route? You will be driving your Turbo soon enough...........don't forget the photos......lots of them! That goes for C4s Surgeon (the other Chris) too!

Turbo is definitely the best choice in the lineup considering how rare the RS is and the base GT3 comes with a sunroof.

Hey Chris!

Glad to hear your car is en route! What a wait. I'll bet things are getting exciting at your place. To bad you'll be hit with that 2.3% dock storage fee from Porsche!

When you get your car, lets get together again. Twinsies.

Ken

Twins indeed! Will definitely get together. Will be in malvern a couple of days next week, was hoping I'd have it by then but oh well. What's a few more days at this point?

That's bad news but no comparison to Asia in Hong Kong there is estimated increase for 5% for most MY08, for Turbo it sure will take the hit. Plus we need to pay higher tax which make up to around 40% more compare to California MSRP price.

Thanks for the well wishes on my new arrival. I can almost taste it. Pics will be forthcoming. Of course, I hope they'll be up to your expectations, or I'lll hear all about it...

By the way, cannga, I agree with you about the math here. I only came up with about $2,990. The story and the figures came from Autoblog.

That's the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time. Looks like your GSXR 1000 wasn't the only thing totaled

Raising the price on the GT3RS is a little redundant considering they're getting 50K over msrp in the first place.

ya i guess the crash on the bike has totaled my brain but everyone to there own..... i like the fact that the price has raised because the car becomes more exclusive and hard to get..... on top of that i already ordered my turbo and its arrival date is june 2nd, that means i beat the price increase buy 2 months...... to me this is awesome coz my car is worth more than what i paid for, that means better resale value also...... and by the way ur comment was not cool man..... i dont think that u have any right to say that someone elses opinion is stupid, thats why they are opinions none are wrong nor right
