Whatever you do be careful with the Dawn. A capful in a bucket goes a long way. Try to pour it on you wash mit in the bottom of the bucket and then use pressure fill to get the some suds going. A grit guard is highly recommended.

To me Rejex, Klasse, Zanio, and a few other synthetics seem about the same to me. Rejex is easy to apply and your using one product instead of 3-4 different ones for Zanio. The best products are the natural waxes (Pinnacle, P2's, Zymol, Griots, etc) because I like the depth of the final shine they give, especially on metallics except they just don't last very long at all compared to the synthetics. So I sacrafice "depth" for "the plastic wrap look" but in the end its less work. Make sure if you change products that you strip the former product off using "Dawn liquid detergent" or similiar, otherwise you can end up with a big gooey mess. Zanio is notorious for that because its one product thats not very compatible with others. Turborx, is doing the combo package with P21s as the top coat over the long lasting synthetic products and thats fine too. Its the top coat that will need to be re-applied more often because that will be the first to go as soon as you wash your car a few times. Using a spritz (Sonus makes a good one) after every wash really helps keep the shine up. Everyone has their favorites and no single product is "the best" in my opinion. It all depends on what look your after and how long you are willing to work to keep it that way. Happy waxing, sealing, polishing, glazing, buffing, claying or whatever you call it! Cheers!
Very well said. Get whatever you like the look of and just remember to WASH. That's the best thing you can do for your finish.

I would never use dishwashing fluid on any car, especially my Porsche. Dishwashing fluid were never meant for car paint surfaces.

The only time you would use Dawn (if at all) is if you wanted to strip all previous coats of wax that has built up on your car over the years and start from scratch. The alternative would be to use a special polish (applied just like wax) to do the same thing which could actually be more abrasive. You should never use Dawn as a regular car wash soap and NEVER on a new car that has never been waxed. (although it wouldn't damage anything). The best and least abrasive way to prep a car for polish/wax new or old is clay together with the proper lubricant spray. Stay away from rubbing compounds, they are just too abrasive on the clearcoat. One more thing, the number 1 thing that causes swirl marks or hairline scratches is not washing your car properly OR using a car cover on a dirty car. I am not a fan of car covers and would only use them if you need to protect your car from pets or kids.

I am by no means a detailing expert, but one thing I highly recommend is clay. I couldn't believe how well it work until I tried it. If you have never used it, you will have no idea how much dirt it picks up off a car that has already been washed. It is time consuming, but worth it.

You only use Dawn to strip off the old wax just like gradyex mentioned, then proceed with clay, polish, rejex, wax. Dawn is a quick easy safe method to prep the car for a major detail job. It shouldn't be used for regular car washes or on a new car.

P.S. That's a hot avatar, could you post the original pic?

I disagree. Its probably a fundamental difference in car washing philosophy, but I don't know of any time where you need to strip off old wax using dishwashing fluid.

That's my plan for the 4th July weekend. So far just using P21S then touch up with Sonus detail spritz after each wash and the spritz really seems to add longevity to the P21S

If its a new car, forget the Dawn or just be very careful with it. I've used it to prep cars for Zaino and it discolors the rubber seals because it dries the out. Just be careful.
