$3K Off MSRP On 2008 997TT Good?
I would say yes as the are more limited than last year and pre-ordering and gettting a discount right now is not too bad. I have asked but I they said no - keep your 07 order
So I did - hope to get it this month!!

I don't think that's anything special at all. I got more than that off 8 months ago and the car is a heck of a lot easier to acquire now. If it was me I would keep shopping!!

07 vs 08 discount is very different, 08 Coupe production is small vs. 07. While the changes to the car are for all intents zero dealers with 8-12 allocations will sell them at MSRP easy enough in SoCal so any discount is great around here.
I'm exchanging emails with a dealer here in the Seattle area and they are reluctant to give any MSRP discount. Dealer has a black 07 TT coming late July or August, and they don't want to give me a discount.
I haven't negotiated very hard yet, but I feel I may eventually get a discount (if not..I'll look elsewhere).

i think that $3000 off of an 08 is very good-just to comment, i observe this type of conversation repeatedly on this forum. let's be honest-you are talking about a car that will cost between 130k to 145k, that is going to be made next year in quantities less than this year (coupes). so you were offered 3k off-what do you want to do, spend 4 hours negotiating and possibly waiting 3-6 more months to save another thousand on a 137k car? if the thousand was so important, you wouldn't be buying the 137k car. and please-save the "well, if you want to waste your money, that's your business" argument. come on guys, this is a very expensive car-is it the victory of saving a grand that prompts these "should i save 3 grand, or hold out for 4 grand" arguments. i could see if this was a buyer's market on this car, but clearly it isn't. my advice-buy your car, drive it and enjoy it, and be happy that you are driving a car of this caliber.
I agree. Also, if you are from LA, then this is a great deal for 08 car ordered to your specs. I called a lot of places and felt lucky to get 1500 off. I took it immediately because at this "level," as mentioned below, really the wait is not worth another couple thousands. Just my opinion.

Of course, I have also bought 3 cars from Napleton previously since 2002.

In '07 they were "new".
In '08 they are "limited".
What will '09 bring?

Go for double that.
