3M Question

Hey Guys,

Did you replace the clear plastic coating on the rear fender and do under the doors or did you leave as is and do the other areas of your car?

raffi is infamous around these parts
i used the aerospace stuff and replaced the pieces you are talking about, i dont think the installer will charge you much more for these small pieces, that are probably already alittle discolored (mine were @100miles) and the installer will hide all seams except the upper edge so it will be less noticeable.

thanks. did you do under the door and is the piece on the fender connected to it? I'm wondering what becomes of the seam on the lower center body between the rear fender and under the door. if it's one piece, you will see it down below running parallel to the ground.

mine is a narrow 997 so the lower edge is a bit different and probably easier to hide on a widebody because of the extra line where the side skirts meet.
the piece wraps into the jamb of the door and so you only see 2 lines, the vertical one that goes from inside the door to the bottom of side skirt (this could've been avoided if i had them wrap the whole skirt)
and the other line is the upper edge, my shop did this with a better curve than the oem and it looks much nicer and flows with the curves.
its hard to see in pics, but i drew the exposed edges with the red lines

trust me Darren, I will post tons of pics when my car is out of the bodyshop.
i have also picked up the gt3 vent, techart side skirts, rear wing above the window and rear techart diffuser.
also got matte black center/polished lip champion rg19's.
was about to sell my car, then realized that these mods will help me wait for my next ride and see less depreciation on this car.

thanks for editing my pic, i will also have to learn how to host these pics so i can have more up...
