Mike,

Snow performance makes a kit that can be tapped into any car. The real benefit comes from being able to added another few pounds of boost without leaning out and detonating. Until someone adds user adjustable boost to the car, it would be mainly beneficial for applications like endurance road racing where heat soak could be avoided altogether

$1100 for a tiny piece of cast metal? That part couldn't have taken that much RD.

It is still a much lower price per HP/TQ if the gains are the way they are stated.

1100/22 = $ 50 per HP

Stage 4 = $ 108 per HP

But I agree it does not look "expensive"

That particular piece needs to be cast, then machined for the flanges, tapped for vacuum fittings. As cheap as I am I consider it a reasonable price for a quality product. Compare it to some of the pricey non-functional stuff like exhaust tips or the Fabspeed intake....

I kinda feel like it is overpriced because of how it looks, even though I hope the Cayman price will be a bit lower. On the other hand, you can't argue with the bang for the buck and while its a little rough, its not that bad and in truth better than some of the cheaper pieces Porsche uses including the part it replaces on the cayman.

The price for the Cayman S plenum is $995.

The dyno was done at Dynamic Autosports in Lake Forest.

Did you modify the intake on the Cayman or just the plumbing between the MAF and Plenum? Do I need that? Part of a kit?

I'm not 100% sure because I have yet to do an install on a Cayman. I believe it is just the plenum that is replaced with no modification needed. Give Greg @ RSS a ring (714-545-1046)

997 Turbo Plenum Dyno Results

Greetings Once Again 6 Speeders,

Below you will find the latest dyno results with the 997 TT IPD Plenum installed. These initial performance gains have been very promising. Please keep in mind that these dyno figures were performed with the car in Sport Mode and the car is equipped with after market exhaust and software. These horsepower gains are even more impressive when you consider that HP gains become harder to find and more expensive as you climb the proverbial "Performance Ladder". We should have new dyno results that compare stock versus plenum very soon. Once again production of these new Turbo plenum should begin next month. Stay tuned for availability.

Please stop asking, "Why doesn't Porsche do this themselves?" We're not Porsche and we don't know. Please call them directly and let us know what they have to say regarding the product/design. All we know is that all of the plenums work great, produce the best bang for the buck power gains and give you genuine "Seat of the pants performance".

997 Turbo Plenum Dyno Numbers

Here are the dyno numbers for the graph you see above. Again, this pull was performed with the car in Sport Mode on an all wheel drive dyno, which means the numbers you see are at the wheel numbers. You can see the before and after plenum figures.
