Skyline GTR unofficial time of 7:38 @ Nürburgring
The GTRs fate is tied to its tuneability. That would be the biggest and possibly only reason to buy it over the TT or the Z06.
Nissan has been hyping this thing for a long time, i expect they will get it right.

it better be tunable as hell, im not a "two tons of fun" sorta guy (VR4 drivers
)
I would argue that the Z06 and the Chevy block is one of the most tunable engines ever produced.
I would argue against that, you have to rebuild the motor to get any power out of that motor. The viper is the best, then the various turbo motors (porsche TT, GT2, Supra, GTR, etc). You cant add boost to the LS7 or it blows, the compression is too high.
I do think it's one of the best motors ever though, the gas mileage and weight are awesome.

IMO tuneable will always favor FI because NA will take rebuilds to get to equal power levels of FI. 500 rwhp is childs play to FI motors. Look at AMG, Porsche, Ford GT, GT500 and others, the power you can make per liter of displacement is insane. And all this with bolt ons. You can only get so far with bolt ons on N/A.
For road racing N/A is better, but for purely making power, you cant beat FI.
The 3,800lbs curb weight isn't totally official, but there is very good evidence that this is what it is (its from a japanese brochure).
Horsepower and torque are totally unknown, we only have rumors, they range from 450-550hp.
It comes standard with a dual clutch sequential manual, 6 or 7 gears, nobody's sure yet.
3.8 liter twin turbocharged V6.
All wheel drive, all wheel steering.
20" rims standard (not totally confirmed but lots of positive info).
2+2 seating.
And no, that wing is just a photoshop. The real wing is much smaller and just a toned down, ordinary wing.
Nissan themselves said that this car is made to defeat the 997TT in performance. Its only been recent that these magazines are claiming that the GT-R has set its sights on the Carrera GT (I don't see how it could even come close to a Carrera GT or GT2). All information right now is STILL more or less speculation, nothing is totally confirmed. You have to wait for the Tokyo Motor Show in 21 days from now.
BTW, I have a deposit down on this car. A couple of dealerships already have some long waiting list. Some dealerships aren't allowed to sell this car and the ones that will should only be getting 2 a year. I was originally planning to get a nicely modded 996TTX50 but with all the new technology and the exclusivity of this car, plus the fact that I will get it brand new, and the history of the car and tuner potential, I had to jump on it. I'm glad I did because I bet after the official release at the Tokyo show its goig to be impossible to get a hold of this car unless you are will to pay huge markups or have a friend in the industry.
But I'm still going to reserve my judgement on the car untill the 21 days are up...
