Skyline GTR unofficial time of 7:38 @ Nürburgring

Looks like they're going directly after the turbo.

did you not understand that it just ran a 7:38 at the ring?

i surmise it will keep up with all the marques you mentioned stock

once the tuners get ahold of it..........

That's the problem with this car, people running around spewing rumors. The car ran 7:38 according to a hand time by a magazine that says it could easily be 2 seconds slower on a real timer (which is realistic).

I dont doubt that Nissan will report a better lap time than the turbo because they said that's the goal, but that doesnt mean anything as they already have questionable ring tactics.

What really matters is when someone OTHER than NISSAN test a PRODUCTION model outside of JAPAN. Then it will mean something.

hmm, i think you are missing the point here. regardless of the 2 seconds plus or minus the point is that its as fast as a 997TT stock. you also assert that you "doubt" it will worry Z06 owners.....we'll see but judging from the last few iterations of GT-R i would disagree.

and im just talking stock for stock, you and i both know this car is made to be tuned. its part of its DNA

I agree, this is a tuner car, which is why it wont be anything more than just as fast as the 997 TT, which I do think it will be and maybe a TAD faster, but not much. And the 997 TT doesnt worry the Z06 IMO, so that's how I come to that conclusion.

Nissan is making the car with plenty of mod room (though they say it will be difficult to mod), and it will accel as a major mod track car.

One piece turbo/exhaust. Good luck tuning that.

These threads have a strange resemblance to the Z06 threads awhile back.

Say what you want now when its speculation and rumors, but don't be surprised when its true.

Love competition!

This is gonna give the z06 a massive run for the bang for the buck title, especially with the tunability that is part of the Skyline culture that Nissan cannot ignore. Glad they targeted the 997 TT as it is flattering, but bang for the buck is not what porsche is about and why I think it is a bigger threat to the Corvette.

Looking forward to tests!

as i said we will see. i have read that Nissan has designed the motor to make 600HP with minor mods which pretty much every owner will do.

whatever the outcome its always nice to have another player in the game

where there's a will, there's a way. i GURANTEE you it will be tuned by every decent japanese tuner in the land and i also predict new tuners will pop up that will only cater to the GT-R. mark my words
