I do think this is the cleanest install I have ever seen in a pcar.

I'm not sure where you got this data about "super clean" being necessary on the laser jammers. My M25 xtreme works all the time without any special cleaning...I check them regularily with the new hand held laser tester found at radarbusters. I guess if the jammers got snowy sludge accomulated on them that may be different, but no problem with that in Florida.

After the 987 install, I see another full custom option of grafting the display into the steering column trim in between the tiny grills.

Check this install out

Brian

Take a loook here. I like the way they install in the opening below the PCM. This is the way to go for a Turbo. What do you think?

Hi Guys,

Just a quick update in terms of the types of installs we are doing with the 9500ci. Below are pics from a recent Cayman S Install in terms of what we consider a "BASIC" install in terms of the display and the controller. The bulk of the installation remains the same as with the 997's.

The display piece is mounted for enough forward so the steering wheel can be moved all the way back and not have a clearance issue.

Milou and to those in Europe,

YES, THE 9500CI WILL WORK IN EUROPE!!! I had a looooong conversation with Steve Thomas at Escort and here is the deal....

The US has more radar frequencies than the Euro market so ALL guns and detection devices are currently covered.

All GPS coordinate functions will work, it will still take 3 falses for the auto lockout to kick in.

Target marking still works, GPS based

NO MAPS for Europe in the database yet. However, Escort does have the Euro maps already and are working on it. Steve could not tell me if it would be a week, a month or a quarter out yet, it all has to do with demand. If I show Escort that there is a demand by selling these systems to you guys overseas, we as a group can drive the manufacturer to move a bit faster to cover our Euro clients and get the euro mapping database done.

is there any other modell that might work best in Europe?

What do you mean by that? " it will still take 3 falses for the auto lockout to kick in"

Which functions? "All GPS coordinate functions will work"

thx

This system autolearns your area based off GPS coordinates when it picks up a false signal multiple times based off it's frequency. Say for instance a automatic door trips your radar 3 times, the system now knows where that door is based off it's GPS coordinates and the frequency it is sending. it also allows you to lock out manually a location if you don't want to wait till it does it automatically etc...

The STi-R will be better suited for Europe as you can edit it to scan for specific KA frequencies which are in Europe. Also it will allow you to keep your current laser jammer.

For GPS camera locator you might want to look at either the Speed Cheetah GPS mirror or C100 GPS camera detector
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Brian you are wrong about there is no european databases. Escort will tell that they have no european database BUT THAT IS A LIE!!! Escort leases the Trinity database developed by SpeedCheetah who sells the GPS Mirror Speed Camera Detector, and C100 GPS Speed Camera Detector. The Trinity database has the world covered as far as cameras goes.

I had the 9500Ci installed by Benchmark Motoring up here in Bellevue, WA for about $3k. Should be about that for you as well.

What, in your opinion is better, The 9500 ci or a Laser Int.+ V1?

Everyone will have varying opinions about that. I couldn't answer that because I don't have the Laser Interceptor but I currently have both the 9500Ci and the V1 in mine.
