Ok, I think i found the major issue with K-40. I never was aware of this issue until this past week when fixed a MB S65 with distronic plus for a friend. Obviously it won't work without interfacing it correctly to the vehicle because the vehicle has 4 K- band emmiters so any radar detector within 100 feet is going nuts.

But to get to the root of K-40's problem. It is installers! The POS installer who did the install, velcro'd the rear to the bumber (which was falling off because of the dirt under it, had it at an angle that it was looking up not back, the laser defuser was on the plate which is attacked to the trunk lid, the fools drilled a hole and into the unlock mechanism, not to mention not adding a grommet so the diffuser was grounded out. the front radar was behind a chrome grill, three laser diffusers up front and none of them properly mounted, or level... and that is why K-40 gets a bad rap, Ya need to find someone that pays attention to detail ...

I guess the SRX and K40 are about the 2 best you can get...

I had a K40

didn't like it.
sure it was stealth, but it falsed and beeped too many times then you tend to ignore it.
My brother has a Valentine and SWEARS by it. I have an escort and it quite good. But the Valentine seems smarter and better in everyway

If you want the best radar/laser detector, get a Valentine One.

If you want the best laser jammer, get the Laser Interceptor, AL, or LPP.

There is some misinformation on here about the K40. The K40 may be able to detect radar but it can't jam any lidar guns used by the police. I find it interesting that you can find all kinds of laser jammers that work on youtube but there are none of the K40 working. How can it be that such a great device like the K40 doesn't have any fans that want to show it in action?
It's because it doesn't work as advertised.

The only video of the K40 in action shows it failing as usual:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=9fwJCRDk2Ik

It is very interesting that the K40 site is so pretty but they don't have any videos of their laser jammer in action. All they have are links to people that have installed them on their cars but no actual laser jammer tests. The only independent testing that was done was on the radar detection portion of the K40 not the "laser jamming" crap.

Be sure and read the fine print on their website:

http://k40.com/images/pdf/tech/CalibreBrochure.pdf

K40 will pay any "radar" speeding tickets you receive for the first year not lidar tickets. I wonder why they couldn't make the lidar ticket guarantee??
Anyone care to guess?

Because it can't jam lidar guns.

yes, i saw that test, but the laser interceptor was The Laser Interceptor was a "development unit", which could be updated with new software in the field, so if they get the same results from a retail unit i would be interested,

You also told everyone that K-40 doesn't work, I called you a tool on a previous page of this, because you go around telling everyone BS... oh this don't work, this don't work, but clearly it does...

Valentine is more sensitive then the K-40 and falses more hands down, the reason i know this is because I have both or had, I used to sell both, and I used to install both... And I run the gauntlet everyday of 4 cities running radar and Laser. Now this is the real world, not the e-world you live in...

What was your excuse on a previous forum that I proved you wrong about it working? Then you state K40 won't pay a ticket for Lidar? seriously? anyone that believes this internet tool should not! Please call K-40 yourself and ask for yourself, they won't be blowing smoke up ya, nor are they going to say buy this or buy that, unlike the radar roy tool. K-40 doesn't get into the smear campaign that these tools do. And if K-40 won't play their smear game then K-40 is a POS

It works hands down, and there is a new laser defuser from K-40 that is 1/2 the size of the original, 30% more sensitive and 80% more powerful.

www.k40.com

Don't take anyones advice on the internet, mine included, my agenda is not to sell you a radar or a laser unit, i just like messing with the tools that spew BS to other people and state it is gospel! Everyone here has the ability to contact k40 for an answer, call and ask for the tech department.

it is even a 800 number!

Don't be misled by someone thats sole purpose is a puppet for Radar Roy
