2006 997S Service message showing

My car (Johnny/TROVAN’s old 997S) has a service message showing, it had been decrementing for the last 12 days saying service in 11 days, 10 days, etc…. The car has ~12,800 miles and Johnny had the oil changed not too long ago. What kind of service might I need and will I void the warranty if I don’t take it in?

Any thought or recommendations?

Alain

The first service is due at 20k miles or 24 months whichever comes first. The countdown is for the first service based on the 24 month counter so my guess is it was not reset when the oil was changed. Take it in and have them reset it.

I have it too, with 8700 miles. Have to go to the dealer for a reset. PITA.

So quick question here. I bought my 06 997S in Sept of this year with 12k on the clock. When I purchased it the car said service needed so I took the car into the shop right away. The car was delivered to the original owner in Sept 05. The dealer did an oil change for me ($199). So do I need to have them service the car again at 20k miles or is it just another oil change?

just follow the manual for proper service intervals, oil, brake fluid, filters etc...
those service messages are for people that cant get info from these boards and just do whatever the machine tells them.
if you get lucky the dealer wont charge you for resetting the light.
