I can't believe there's any system on the planet better constructed than the AWE. The welds are exceptional - everything I have from AWE is a work of art. The sound and performance - amazing. Every time I'm at the track, somebody not in my run group (Black) comes over to ask what engine / exhaust I have because it sounds so good. Never heard Tubi myself, but have nothing but good things to say about AWE.

As to installation - not the easiest... Rear bumper comes off if I remember correctly, then plenty of time adjusting, getting the tips right, etc.

Gee RONCT I guess the design flaw of 2007 which cost me to have the defective 3 month old mufflers taken out and the newly designed put in due to the poor welds that permitted the baffles to blow out does not count.

Everyone's entitled to be forgiven for their mistakes but not at another's expense. Happy Holidays to all including AWE.

? Not sure what you are talking about, but I'll assume you had a bad experience. My experience has been perfect.

Can't really comment on the NA exhaust, but the Tubi for the 997TT is really a piece of art, def worth the extra $. My .02

RonCT see former threads in summer of 2007 concerning AWE's response to my dilemma that they changed the design of the mufflers since my "bad experience" was not isolated.

i'm in nova, and i have the tubi's couldnt be happier... never heard the awe's but the pse's sound nice too. I opted for the tubi's over the pse bc of the name, weight, and it wasnt that much more then the pse's.

Ivan at IMA hooked it up in less then 2 hours (i think). They do great work there...

msg me if you wanna hear the tubi's in person..

Both of my brand new AWE mufflers blew out on the weld seams as well this summer.

Mike was very attentive to seeing a resolve to my issues with replacement newly designed cans.

Hope your's hold out Ron...... as they are the old design....

BTW they really do sound and perform "A.W.E.some" !!!!!

I am hesitant to admit that I have Borla's on my 997S, but I do. I wanted a lighter weight system with power gains. The Borla gave 14hp increase on a dyno, saved 40-50% of the weight and sound much like PSE without the rasp (admittedly less like a Porsche, but PSE is very heavy and gives no gain in power). I cannot say mine is the best sounding 997S I've heard, as it isn't.

I think the FabSpeed bypass pipes sound best, had them on my 993. But for 30% of the price of Tubi, the Borla system is one hell of a deal with more power and an easier install. It is a shame that so many people dismiss it as "crap" because they are less expensive and available for "lesser" makes. Basically the brand name isn't there. Weight and power can't be argued with. I like seeing everyone debate the different systems, we all have different opinions of what makes a system worthwhile. PSE doesn't save weight, doesn't add power and is expensive. All it does is give you sound. Sound is a high priority but well below power and weight for me. Having said this, I still believe I will end up with muffler bypass pipes from Fabspeed in the near future. The sound of an unmuffled porsche engine is music on both acceleration and decel. Lift of the throttle and the burble and pops that normally get muffled out come through like ALMS cars.

Most on this board have beautiful rides and I love the sound of all the systems (including the non-PSE factory exhaust). What's not to love about the sound of the 3.8 engine?

I agree with somebody's earlier comment, don't trust others to make your decision. You need to think about what you are looking for and pick for yourself. Good luck with your decision, let us know which way you go.

Sorry for the long reply...

I totally agree with you(sound, and each person has to decide what they like) and I like reading long replies. I think its a matter of preference. I want to do the upgrade for the SOUND and not power. Because if I was power crazy I would go for the turbo or supercharger. I don't expect an exhaust to make the difference. I want to be noticed when I'm revin' that engine....

No but seriously I want something that sounds powerful but at the same time not be annoying or **** people off.

13,000 miles turned over today and in that time I have 12 track days with my Fabspeed mufflers and no issues at all. They sound great and seem to be holding up quit well.
