Tubi over AWE?
I was at the porsche dealer the other day and I was asking them about having an exhaust installed and the "parts sales consultant" recommended me to have the Tubi installed. I told him I was considering installing AWE since I have heard most members on this board favor AWE but he said Tubi is constructed better than AWE. I mentioned Borla and he said its garbage. PSE was an option but he said its more expensive as it takes 10 hrs to install it compared to 5 hrs for Tubi.
Anyone have any thoughts on this and how much of this is true?
Thanks!

Take my personal advice and look at a make other than the too bee!
I can't stand the noise that thing makes, and it does absolutely nothing for performance.
I would take the advice of those having used other makes.

5hrs to install mufflers???
i wouldnt trust any dealer, he is gonna reccommend whichever muffler he makes the most profit on.
if just for sound, i really like the pse.
have had fabspeed and awe, and both sound very tame, maybe fabs are alittle louder.
i heard a tubi and wasnt too crazy about it either.

I'm surprised to hear the Borla system is "garbage". While I don't have any personal experience with the 997 system, I have had a Borla system on my NSX for years and I love it. It saves weight, actually freed up some power, sounds magnificent, and doesn't resonate. Moreover it has a lifetime warranty.
I have not heard the PSE system in person but I know it's quite expensive and I don't think it makes any power (not that any incremental gains you'd get from exhaust alone on a 355bhp car is enough to notice). I've heard both the AWE and the TUBI and prefer the AWE system. The TUBI is nice, but to my ears the AWE sounds more like the way a P car sounds.

LOL.
Can you have him come on here and explain that comment? I am curious as to how he came to that determination.
Or can you tell us what he told you?

Does anyone know how many threads were on this forum solely devoted to aftermarket exhaust systems within the last 12 months? Is there a way to check.
P.S. rah 79 I can explain the service advisor's comment.

Sorry I was in a hurry......I went in to inquire about the rear fog light (didn't know it was only on the driver's side) and I just talked to him briefly about having the exhaust put on and if there would be any warranty issues. I can give you the name and number of the guy if you want
