Did I hurt my car???
Would a slipper clutch help with a type 2 caused by a missed shift? They are common on Ducs and other motorcycles used on a track why not a car?

I believe there is a way to erase all type codes. Before I bought my car I had a local indie did the PPI. I asked him can the previous owner erase all codes. He told me with the right diagnostic tool such as REVO or Porsche code reader which he has available to do this at a minimal cost can erase every code including overrev.

The overrev info is kept in another place besides the ecu - somewhere, someone with more knowledge than I, said you can never erase that info even if you replace the ecu. Call or email Stephen Kaspar at IA - he'll be one that knows.
