A less sensitive radar detector means a greater chance of receiving a ticket because you can't detect instant-on radar and radar from long distances until it is too late.

X band is rarely used so you can turn it off if it isn't used in your area by police. Turning off X band will quiet down a Valentine One and every other detector.

This is to help people program the V1.

I highly recommend that everybody set up K band auto muting on the V1 to help quiet it down a bit. Learn how to set it up below.

It is too bad that you returned your V1 after a week because that isn't enough time to process the information that the V1 will provide.
I did try all the programming included in the manual. Seemed X and K were going off frequently. Maybe it's just my area. Interestingly enough, I called Valentine and asked if I should return it or do they have any advice. The response I got was "send it back in the box it came in." Click. Dial tone. I took that to mean there were not any solutions. Maybe it just meant the guy who pucked up my call was a jerk. Oh well.
