is it easy to remove the rear bumper guard (two pieces that stick out around license plate)? i have a dent that has chipped of the paint and want to take it to the body shop to get fixed. just wondering if it is going to cost me a fortune. any recommendations in the socal area?

not sure if you necessarily need to remove the bumperette to repaint it. you may want to ask a couple body shops in ur area.

i think you'll need to remove the bumper cover to get the bumperette off. it's true for 996 and i think for 997 as well.

Porsche calles them bumper horns.

You have to remove the rear bumper cover ( some torx screws )

The horns are held in place by clips , which are easy to remove/install
